Anti-social behaviour
Anti-social behaviour
Anti-social behaviour can take many forms, such as behaviour that has or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress or is capable of causing nuisance or annoyance to a person in their home or the community.
We take nuisance and anti-social behaviour very seriously and will take steps to prevent it from continuing. These steps range from written requests and formal discussions to legal proceedings, which may result in the person causing the nuisance to lose their tenancy with us.
If you are experiencing anti-social behaviour, please report it to us as soon as you can so we can address any issues. If it is also a criminal issue, please report it to the police by calling 999 in case of emergency, or 101 in a non-emergency.
Domestic abuse
Domestic abuse can affect people from all walks of life. The legal definition of domestic abuse is “any incident of controlling, coercive or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those aged 16 or over who are or have been intimate partners or family members, regardless of their gender or sexuality.”
This can include but isn’t limited to the following types of abuse:
• physical
• emotional
• psychological
• sexual
• financial
If you are suffering from domestic abuse, you aren’t alone. You can report it to the police and let your Tenancy Management Officer know. To find out more information and access support services, please visit the Met Police website.
