Safety and security responsibility – employer

Ensure we act as a responsible employer by making sure all our staff have adequate health and safety training, support and resource, and their wellbeing is prioritised.

Maintaining staff safety

Tersus Group completed a full health and safety review for us last year for both employer and landlord, comparing against good practice. They produced an action plan, which has been reviewed quarterly by the Health and Safety Committee. From this, we have reviewed training for lone workers, ensured existing training is suitable for staff, improved record keeping, and commissioned work related to fire and gas safety.

Ensuring 100% compliance

As we are a relatively small association, we utilised specialist consultants to support us in achieving 100% in Landlord health and safety compliance. Calford Seadon helped us with electrical compliance and Tersus for the full health and safety review (mentioned above). These relationships are essential in ensuring we stay up to date on industry knowledge and help to build better relationships with our contractors.

Small changes for the environment

In September 2022, we released an environmental policy statement, outlining our goals. Moving to our new offices helped with reducing energy consumption and our move to electronic data management reduced our paper waste.
