Get involved – The events return!
After a 2-year break, we are hosting events again! We started small by bringing events to a couple of our schemes and aim to visit more in the coming year. Don’t forget, if you’d like to hold your own events or do something for your community, you can apply through our Presidents Fund where, if approved, ccha will cover the cost. To find out more, call us on 0800 054 6710 and ask to speak to one of the Customer Investment Team, email citeam@ccha.biz, or visit our website.
Tree planting ceremony
In October, we partnered with Acorn and Axis to hold a tree planting ceremony at four of our sites. This was a chance to give something back to our residents and provide an event where residents could meet staff in person again, including ccha’s Chief Executive Tracy Cullen, Board member Neil Perrins and Director of Finance and Resources Chrishanti Shah, among other staff members.
We had a good turn out and all who attended received a goody bag and were entered into a raffle to win some Love2Shop vouchers, provided by Axis. We had a few happy residents!
Thanks to all who came along and we hope to hold more events like this in the future.
Skip days
It was fed back to our Tenancy Management Officers that residents were struggling to get rid of bulky waste. In partnership with Axis, we provided skips to two of our schemes, Maxwell Close and Redlands Court, giving residents a chance to dispose of any large, bulky items without having to arrange for council collection or take them to a local tip.
It was a successful couple of days. Both skips were nearly filled, and Axis were able to help dispose of some items left in the bin rooms that were taking up space. It is important to dispose of waste correctly as failing to do so can encourage pests, be an eyesore and a health and safety risk.
We are pleased residents took advantage of this one-off service and we are looking at other sites where this may be useful.
In the last issue of Connections9, we discussed how to dispose of your waste correctly10. If you are having an issue or see any fly-tipping in your area, please report it to us by emailing neighbourhoodservices@ccha.biz or report to the police on 101.
